After meeting in Paris, the tour will head to Normandy, a land rich in history, tradition and gastronomy. From Monet’s garden in Giverny to the Mont St. Michel you will discover towns with rich architectural heritage, verdant landscape of apple orchards and fields framed by hedge grows where cows graze contentedly. On this 70th year anniversary of the Normandy D-Day Landing will visit the memorial sites of Omaha Beach, Juno Beach, Pointe du Hoc and Sainte Mere l’Eglise. The tour will then continue to the romantic Loire Valley where the Renaissance castles built by the Kings of France will enchant you. In this tour you will have a chance to taste the gastronomy and the specialties of these two regions—cider and cheese in Normandy and the velvety wines of the Loire Valley

Day 1- Bonjour! Let’s Meet in Paris
The group participants will arrive in Paris and settle in their cozy boutique hotel on the left bank. Time to unwind and explore the neighborhood on your own. We will meet in the evening for a welcome dinner. BD
Day 2- Normandy-Giverny, Rouen, Bayeu
After breakfast you will start your journey to Normandy. We will board a comfortable mini-coach, and head for Giverny where we will visit Claude Monet’s garden in its full spring splendor. Our tour will continue to Rouen, the capital of Normandy. Here we will be led on a guided tour of the historic center to visit the Cathedral Notre Dame whose façade was made famous by the impressionist painter Monet. On our walk you will admire the quaint medieval streets lined with half-timbered houses some dating from the Renaissance period; Place du Vieux Marché–site of Joan of Arc’s execution in 1431 and the Gros Horloge an impressive astronomic clock clicking time since the 14th century. We will continue to Bayeux to settle for the night. B/L
Day 3- Normandy- Bayeux and WWII D-Day Landing Sites
Bayeux will serve as our base to tour the WWII D-Day landing sites including: Pointe du Hoc, American Cemetery at Colleville sur Mer, Omaha Beach and Sainte Mere L’Eglise. 2014 marks the 70th anniversary of the allied forces landing on the shore of Normandy. Lunch will be enjoyed at a local restaurant. Evening will be at leisure in Bayeux. B/L
Day 4- Mont St. Michel
Today we will travel to the Mont St. Michel, one of the World’s 7th Wonder and UNESCO World Heritage site. In the middle ages, the Mont St. Michel with its Benedictine Abbey was a major pilgrimage site. We will climb on foot the flight of stairs leading to the abbey where we will go for a privately guided tour. Return to Bayeux in the afternoon to spend at leisure. There will be time to visit 12th century Bayeux Tapestry, which recounts the Conquest of England by William the Conqueror. Lodging in Bayeux. B
Day 5- Drive to the Loire Valley and Amboise
After breakfast, will head to Loire Valley. Our destination is Amboise where we will arrive in early afternoon for a tour of King Francis I’s renaissance castle .Dinner and lodging in Amboise. B/D
Day 6- Loire Valley-Villandry, Chenonceau and Clos Luce
We will explore the Loire Valley castles today starting with the 16th century Chateau de Villandry and its beautifully landscaped French-styled gardens. You will admire the symbolic Garden of Love; Water Garden, the Kitchen and Herb gardens.. We will continue with a tour of the Chateau of Chenonceau the most romantic of castles. Enjoy a wine tasting at local vineyard/cellar. Before returning to our hotel in Amboise, we will visit the Clos Luce, the manor where Leonardo da Vinci lived the last years of his life near the Court of Francois I in Amboise. Back to Amboise we will enjoy a dinner in town. B/L/D
Day 7- Chambord and Return to Paris
After breakfast we will visit the grandiose Castle of Chambord before returning to Paris. Free time to enjoy dinner and evening at leisure in Paris. B.
Day 8- Return home or extend your stay in Paris.
